I love Darryll Jones' Instagram account. It's so simple yet fun and artistic, and it reminds me of my childhood, when I used to play with my Star Wars figures. Darryll Jones is, according to the biography on his account, "just a dude, photographing a little plastic dude."
Darryl lives in the UK but he moved from South Africa six years ago. He said in a BBC article he didn't realize how cold and wet the winters were so instead of the normal landscape photography he was doing, he found himself confined to the indoors, with only a few Lego stormtroopers as friends. So he started shooting them and people started giving him really positive feedback. Darryl brings to life plastic figures (mostly a Stormtrooper named Eric) and it's really a treat to see.
It's not a skirt! It's a kilt, Eric mumbled to himself as he walked along a path in the #cairngorns …. Just then a car whizzed by and in the distant wind he heard the feint scream carried along which made his heart sink even lower…. "Maaaaan puuuurrrse" … It wasn't a fekking man purse!!!! It was small kit bag… *all these Scottish adventures will be available as prints when I return, most of them in a panoramic format rather than square….
