Don’t use an extra Door Latch in Earthquake-Prone Areas

reader-tip-720x360Each Friday, we feature a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week's tip comes from reader Karol H., who says:

"My flight attendant friends (while on layovers in Japan hotels) say they do not put the extra door lock latch over the door lock in case of an earthquake. If the door frame shifts, they may not be able to open the door."

In Japan an many other places, earthquake safety is no joke. Thanks, Karol!
